Project Description

I’m fairly happy with the crispness and weight of the lines I managed in this one. I’m also happy with the decision to have PMD’s signs upside down, because of his orientation. This “gag” very much draws (…no pun intended. Seriously) upon the old Wile E. Coyote cartoons I grew up on, in which Wile E. finds himself having run off a cliff, finally realizes it, he holds up a “yikes” or “yipe” kind of sign, then gravity kicks in. Considering the entire premise of PMD communicating via signs is an homage to that Loony Toons construct, I like that I was able to incorporate that influence more directly/obviously.  And hey, yet another occurrence of my speedline brushes…which might need some tweaking in that last panel for the inevitable Full Color Collection…
