Project Description

“I don’t care what anyone else thinks, I find this absurdity hilarious. My first ideas were literal, focusing on things that bounce and whatnot, but that didn’t make me excited. Then I read the slang part of the definition and I immediately knew I had to head in that direction. I thought about PMD’s more intimidating, and thus more bouncer-like, alter-ego of Gorilla Monkey Dynamo, but couldn’t quite come up with the right scenario. I thought about something more dynamic and active, but I wasn’t sure who or what either version of PMD would be launching out of a door from some establishment. Then I decided it would be funny for PMD to be ‘bouncing’ a ball, preventing it from entering a club…but what kind of club and for what reason? PMD is generally a pretty easy going and inclusive fellow. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, really. I didn’t want the reasoning to be ‘we don’t serve your kind here’ or shape or color or something else alienating. There would have to be a non-discriminatory reason for him to stop the ball from getting inside. The answer? The Ball Pit Lounge is already at maximum capacity, unfortunately.”
