Project Description

INKTOBER 2022 Day #13: KIND.

I struggled for a long time to come up with an idea for this prompt. I did my usual word and image searches, delved into the definitions. Not much got my Brain going. I thought about how to show kindness, I thought about PMD being one of many plunger-wearing simians. Nothing clicked.

Then I randomly spotted an image from those ubiquitous children’s books: Little Miss Kind. I had not thought of those since I was reading them to my kids eons ago. I figured of all the times I’ve drawn PMD slapping a plunger on something, she would be the most appreciative and understand it for the welcoming, friendly, inclusive, and kind gesture it is.

Kindness is an attribute I spend a lot of time thinking about. I’ve mentioned before that I am an Eagle Scout, and one of the twelve points of the scout law is “kind”. It’s a characteristic I do my best to embody, though I know I come up short at times. It’s something I learned from my parents and other family members that was reinforced through my time in scouts. It is a way of interacting with the world that helps make everything a little better. If you can only be one thing, be kind.
