Project Description

As I mentioned, one of the goals of Inktober for me, aside from general drawing habits, improved inking and drawing skills, was to get better at drawing myself in preparation for working on Revery again. I want to be able to draw myself without relying so heavily on photo reference. I wanted to develop a sort of manga version of myself that I could easily draw. With that in mind, I decided to round out my first Inktober with 3 cartoony self portraits, the last 2 being the strongest. I was going to be away on the 31st, and wouldn’t be back in the studio until November 2nd or 3rd, so I actually put in some extra time on the 30th and finished a day early. I wasn’t even sure I’d manage a drawing every other day for the Inktober challenge, but I ended up with all 31. I’m pretty proud of that, considering all the distractions I have as the stay at home dad.
