Project Description

INKTOBER 52 2023 Day #45: WEIRDO.

“There was only one option for this prompt: the blue weirdo himself, The Great Gonzo. I consumed a lot of Muppet related content as a kid (as did most people of my vintage). It was wacky, creative, imaginative, hilarious, and fun. The cast of characters is extensive, and they are all individual and unique. However, somehow, Gonzo always stood out despite the wide variety of looks and personalities. I think I kind of always related to him. Growing up, I felt different from my peers. I certainly got treated like I was different at certain stages. I have definitely been called weird on more than one occasion. I firmly believe that who we are is an amalgamation of everything we have experienced no matter how minor, and everyone we’ve met no matter how briefly. I won’t go so far as to say Gonzo is the reason Plunger Monkey sprang forth from my subconscious one day, but he’s definitely part of the recipe. You have to admit, this interaction would ‘normal’ if it ever took place.”

Are you enjoying all these Plunger Monkey pen and ink illustrations? Would you like to see a whole lot more of them, all nicely packaged in book form? Then you’re in luck!
