Project Description

Early in 2015, my sister had to put down her beloved, old dog, Quegan. My sister deeply loves dogs, and Q in particular. He had been with her for such a long time, through some highs and lows in her life, and having to let go was a very painful experience. I also loved that dog. I took care of him a few times when he was younger, before my sister moved away (and eventually came back), and he never seemed to forget me. Even when he was older and slower, he would always perk up a little for me. I did this digital painting of him and had it printed to canvas and stretched as a gift for my sister. She has quite a few pictures of him, but it’s always been my philosophy that a picture captures a moment in time, but a painting can capture a life.
