INKTOBER 52 2023 Day #11: HAWK.

Behold: Hawk-Monkey! I’ve always been a Marvel comics guy, I’m much more familiar with those characters and stories. However, I did watch a lot of the DC cartoons and had a bunch of DC Superheroes action figures. One of my favorites was Hawkman. I just thought he looked cool, and he had that awesome mace. Plus, what kid (or adult) wouldn’t have wanted wings? A lot more detailing and texturing went into this than I was originally thinking, but I’m not complaining (though maybe my hands and back are). Coming up with a cool pose was a bit of a challenge. I wanted something that was either iconic to Hawkman, or simply showcased some of the costume and details I planned on. I went through a few poses before finding a good reference piece by an artist whose name I can’t decipher. This one was a lot of fun, and I’m thinking a plunger mace might have to be added to the list of potential PMD merchandise someday…
