INKTOBER 52 2023 Day #21: SCRATCH.

Chainmail is tough to draw without committing to drawing every little ring. It’s definitely another thing I need to practice. The absurdity of the black knight scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail always resonated with me, as it has for so many. The movie is a comedy classic that has had a lasting influence on the genre, full of off the wall humor and great quotes, which definitely shaped my sense of humor. My friends and I-and we aren’t unique in this regard-still toss quotes at each other or recite lines and scenes randomly to make each other laugh (though these days it’s done via social media and often in meme or GIF format). Like anyone else, there are a lot of things that have gone into making me who I am, and thus Plunger Monkey who he is. I don’t want to overstate things, but it’s a pretty safe bet that PMD wouldn’t be the same had I never heard of Monty Python.
