Project Description

So my wife spoiled me with some new art stuff for my birthday. Among other things, she gave me greyscale and sepia paper sketchbooks, some Copic Multiliners, and some white Gellyroll pens. Of course the first thing I drew was a PMD portrait. The paper is fun to work on, saves me the time and ink of toning paper to a midtone, the Multilinears are very smooth and a pleasure to use, and having a white ink pen is just cool. Definitely fun to play with, and I’m itching to play some more soon. I still need to experiment with different ways to combine all these tools, especially the white pen. Very easy to over do it, as I kind of did with this sketch). I need to work on sort of a reverse cross-hatch style so I can go from that midtone paper gradually to full on white, much like I use various styles of hatching to go from the midtone down to the darkest darks.
