It’s Plunger Monkey Dynamo Time #43
I'm fairly happy with the crispness and weight of the lines I managed in this one. I'm also happy with the decision to have PMD's signs upside down, because of his orientation. This "gag" very much draws (...no pun intended. Seriously) upon the old Wile E. Coyote cartoons I grew up on, in which
It’s Plunger Monkey Xmas Time!
Every year for the last several years, my siblings and I go in on a group gift for our parents. In previous years, we've sent them to musicals or a mini weekend away somewhere. This year, with our family unit ever expanding and getting busier and busier, we decided we'd give them something they'd want

MOAR SPEEDLINES! Illustrating PMD's transformation from hulk mode to monkey was an awkward one, but I think my method worked alright. I'm content with my linework, hatching, and overall gestures in this strip. I keep waffling back and forth between keeping things really open and simple and getting really detailed (which is my nature).
It’s Plunger Monkey Dynamo Time #41
I'm fairly happy with my linework in this strip overall. I enjoy employing my speedline brushes, I have to stop myself from overusing them.
Pet Portraits: Ivy
Another pet portrait for a loved one who lost a furry loved one. This one is my cousin and his wife's first dog together. He got it framed up in a nice shadow box with her special collar mounted inside, which turned out really nice.
It’s Plunger Monkey Dynamo Time #40
My face looks disturbingly weird in that first panel. I looked at a bunch of Hulk reference images for the second panel. I was definitely getting fatigued from all the taco details by this point, struggling to keep them each looking a little different and unique. I didn't do myself any favors with their
Plunger Monkey Xmas Ornament 2016
Every xmas, I tend to draw little PMD cartoons of some sort on the card envelopes that go out to some select friends and family. Every year I feel bad that I'm not drawing on all of them, but there just isn't time. Last year (2015), I came up with a fun idea for an
It’s Plunger Monkey Dynamo Time #39
That third panel was an unplanned one. I messed up on my panel proportions on the first two, requiring a third. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, actually. That second panel, though? Meh. I think it's lacking the power I was trying to express after that taco grab in panel one,
Thea: The Little Witch-Thea Goes to School
This is the first wholey original cover I did for L.S. Gagnon's Little Witch series (meaning this book hasn't been published with any other cover). I tried applying a few new techniques in its creation, which went fairly well. I also made a couple of custom brushes (for trees and grass). Here's a two interesting
It’s Plunger Monkey Dynamo Time #38
I'm not thrilled with the radial explosion-y bit in the second panel. I free-hand drew that before I thought about adding some radial speed lines in Photoshop with my (then) new custom speed line brushes. I do kind of like the free-hand speed lines in the hand/arm in the first panel, though. I've always
PMD Let There Be Star Wars
On December 15, my wife and I surprised our kids by taking them to the pre-opening night showing of Rogue One (it should come as no surprise that I loved it). I wanted to commemorate the occasion with a PMD illustration, he very much expresses my inner emotions that I have a hard time expressing
It’s Plunger Monkey Dynamo Time #37
Overall I'm pretty pleased with all 3 finished panels in this strip. Hulk PMD's little sign cracks me up for no logical reason. I decided to stray from my detail obsession a little by employing some silhouettes in that last panel. They can be used to great effect, and texturing all those tacos was
