Broken Maple
A study from 2009ish of a large maple tree that dropped a huge limb (thankfully not on the house...this time) after a winter ice storm. The drawing was done in the spring with Prismacolor greyscale markers and Micron pens.
Chimney Thingy and Lilacs
This is one of several Prismacolor greyscale marker and Micron pen studies I did back in 2009.
Crab Raccoon
This critter is a Crab Raccoon, inspired by my friend Jorj's daughter mispronouncing "crab rangoon". When he revealed this adorable malapropism a few years ago, he and I both (Jorj being a talented artist himself) drew what we thought it would look like. This was my take, done in Prismacolor greyscale markers and Micron pens.
Congratulations from Plunger Monkey
This a drawing I just did for my middle son's yearbook. Parents of fourth graders can include a customized message to be included in the printing. It's usually a generic text message with some clip art, but, given I am who I am and I do what I do, I had to do something special
PMD for Cat
This is an image I created for my dear friend who is battling cancer yet again and was going to be going through chemotherapy again. I've known her since college, she was part of a close knit group of oddball friends, and she is one of those people in my life that no matter how
Cat with Apple Slices for Fur
Yeah, so, at some point I had this dream where our cat, Nausicaa (who is no longer with us), was on my head. Aaaaaand she had apple slices for fur. I don't remember what else was going on in that dream, but that image was so crazy and vivid that I included it in the
Ostogri 2
This is the current incarnation of my character Ostogri. As I mentioned in the initial concept piece, he's more plant than human, and now he looks it. He was inspired by the beach trees in my yard, I love their corded, muscle-like look. Ostogri's people have the ability to shape shift a little bit while
Revery Page 2
This is the second page of my graphic novel Revery. This page, along with the entire graphic novel, remains unfinished until I get through a few other projects, but I'm excited to get back to it. The opening pages of the story revolve around some dreams I had many years ago, this page in particular
Ostogri
This is a character I dreamed up quite a while ago named Ostogri. He's actually more plant than human and he lives in the story "Wilhelm" (one of these years I'll give that story an actual title, but Wilhelm has served well for nearly 2 decades so I'll stick with it for now). The deal
Cub Scout Summer Camp Shirt 2015
2014 was the first year I designed an image based around the theme of summer camp for the boys in our pack to wear while attending. Having all the boys in the same shirt, different colors for different days (to make sure they were putting on clean clothes) really helped us keep track of them
Cub Scout Summer Camp Shirt 2014
To help us keep track of all the boys in our Cub Scout Pack during summer camp, we decided to have everyone wear the same color shirt (different color each day) with a graphic designed around that summer's theme. 2014's theme was all about space (officially Space: Blast Off to Adventure!), and the camp staff
Jorj and Toby’s Mexellentacular UMassD Adventures
Here's a double blast from the past-not only is this an image created in 2007, but it depicts myself and my best friend Jorj as we looked back in college in the late 90s, decked out in our trademarked apparel and ready for some Laser Tag action. We used to suit up and play in
