INKTOBER 2022 Day #22: HEIST.

It belongs in a museum!

When I saw this prompt, my initial thought was that seen from the first Mission Impossible movie, where Ethan Hunt is dangling from the ceiling, trying not to trigger the alarms as he makes his digital heist. But it ultimately just didn’t resonate with me. I enjoyed the movie at the time, but it didn’t leave a big impact on me or anything.

My next thought was, of course, Indiana Jones swapping the golden idol for a bag of sand in Raider’s of the Lost Ark, but I had already paid homage to that scene the first year I began incorporating PMD into my Inktoberings. I decided I had to find a way to revisit that scene without being too similar. The logical follow up to that illustration would be this: Plunger Monkey Jones fleeing the giant boulder, trying to get the artifact back home to a museum.

Dressing PMD up as other characters that have influenced my creative journey is always fun for me. I like acknowledging the creators and works that inspire my art.
