Project Description

INKTOBER 2026 Day #7: PANIC.

“This prompt wound up as an excuse for a sort of peak into an unfinished graphic novel project of mine called Revery. It’s not a specific scene, really, and while Plunger Monkey does show up in it, he isn’t a main character (though given that I’m going to be going through it and editing it a bunch at some point, that might change now). The story takes place in the world that exists symbiotically with where dreams come from, a world populated by beings called Cobblies. Dreams need the Cobblies to happen, and Cobblies need dreams to exist. However, there is a distinct barrier between the worlds that can’t be crossed. The Cobblies can travel undetected into the dream realm, but dreams aren’t supposed to enter the Cobbliverse. If a dream made it into the Cobbliverse, it could be catastrophic…at least that’s what generations of Cobblies have believed.

I’ve talked about this story for years now, it’s been with me for almost two decades. I wrote it, did some concept art, thumbnailed the whole thing out and even drew the first 20 or so pages back then, but life kind of took over. All that time in between has been good, though. The story and the world have had time to slow cook in the recesses of my Brain somewhere, and I think when I come back to it, I can overhaul it and make it much better. I also discovered it’s connected to the ‘It’s Plunger Monkey Dynamo Time’ story, too, which was an exciting revelation.”
