Manga Self Portrait Project 33-48
After having some fun with Inktober, I decided to continue my daily ink drawing and self portrait practice, but trying to focus more on developing a solid manga/cartoon version of myself in preparation for working on my graphic novel Revery (which happens to star me). My daily practice generally involves doing one portrait (the one

Inktober 2015 Days 29-31
As I mentioned, one of the goals of Inktober for me, aside from general drawing habits, improved inking and drawing skills, was to get better at drawing myself in preparation for working on Revery again. I want to be able to draw myself without relying so heavily on photo reference. I wanted to develop a
Inktober 2015 Days 25-28
I stuck with the ballpoint pen and Copic marker combo for quite a few of the portraits. I didn't get around to working in the Multiliners somehow, but I wanted to. Perhaps with some stronger contour lines or something. I was also experimenting with how best to use the white lines. Occasionally a solid white
Inktober 2015 Days 20-24
By this point, Inktober was consuming all of my studio time each day, I just kept getting sucked into each drawing. I needed to do something a little quicker, because I was tired, so Day 20 was a tired Plunger Monkey. Again, technically still a self portrait as he is a manifestation of part of
Inktober 2015 Days 15-19
Because of all the goings on in life, I often found myself several days behind schedule and in need of playing catch up. When I was five-ish days off, I decided to throw together a series of portraits comic page style. The first two panels (Days 15 and 16) are probably the strongest, and that
Inktober 2015 Days 11-14
I was really unhappy with the way Day 11 turned out, I used almost all brush tip. I worked form photo reference for all but Days 1 and 2, and this photo was a cool one to try to draw, I just didn't translate it well. 12 is one I'm relatively happy with, having gone
Inktober 2015 Days 6-10
The Day 6 and 7 sketches were done in my moleskin sketchbook at the NH State Jamboree. 6 being inside my cot-tent before going to bed on the first night, 7 was a shadow drawing during a brief break in activity on Saturday. Day 8 is one of my favorites from this Inktober, I set
Inktober 2015 Days 1-5
This is just a collage of the first five days of Inktober 2015. For the first two, I used my Copic Multiliners on plain ol' white paper. On Day 3, I decided to spice things up and add to the challenge by using a toned gray sketch book, the Multiliners, and a white Gellyroll pen.
Cartoon Self Portrait
On the heels of doing 31 self portraits during the month of October for the Inktober challenge, I've decided to attempt a quick, cartoon/manga self-portrait a day partly as drawing warm up, but also to perfect a cartoon version of myself for when I finally get back to work on Revery. The last few Inktober

Slowly approaching the end of this page, and this project. The last four pages are going to be pretty challenging.
